Two cultures

For the majority of the week, I was unable to fully understand the ideas that C.P Snow brought to the world with his "Two Cultures" lecture. But once I watched the interview with Steven Pinker , I completely understood it.  He gave an example of music being a " Third culture" by saying an art such as music can be enlightened by the understanding of auditory perception. I've been loving music my entire life so being able to hear this example really helped me out with this unit.

C.P Snow talked about Two different cultures being completely different and not intervening with one another at all. This is currently present on the campus of UCLA. The Campus split into two different areas, South campus being for sciences and North for Humanities.  Professor Vensa also mentioned this in the lecture video and it's clearly present. Depending on your major, you might have all your classes on North campus and you may never go to South campus while getting your education here unless it's for a G.E.

Years after C.P Snow brought forth the idea of two cultures, the idea of a third culture came about. I want to be a sociology major and I feel  the third culture can be sociology because it's a social science. Sociology is the study of social behavior and uses various methods of investigation and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about social order. I feel this brings together the two different cultures C.P Snow was referring too which would make it a third culture.

My computer froze and I was unable to finish my citation.
